THE FOUNDER - MANAGING PARTNER

Dr. S. Quaiser Alam, PhD, LLB, a technologist, innovator and intellectual property-technology lawyer, has more than 20 years of experience in various technological fields, including chemistry, polymers, oil and gas, energy, nanotechnology, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare and digital technologies. A result-oriented leader with experience in highly matrixed global organizations. Prior to this, he was responsible for the development of external innovation and technology for KRATON Corp as a full-time consultant. Previously, he was responsible for the patent portfolio management of various clients in the fields of chemistry, life sciences and healthcare for an intellectual property law firm in Bangalore (and started to pursue regular law studies).

Before joining the IP law firm, he led the innovation portfolio and intellectual property management in the fields of chemistry, life sciences and healthcare technologies at SABIC and GENERAL ELECTRIC respectively. He started his industrial career as an R&D research scientist at CIBA (acquired by BASF) in Mumbai.

He holds a PhD from IIT Bombay in chemistry (with a focus on organic chemistry) and postdoctoral studies in polymers, nano-bio-technologies and bio-materials from UMASS Amherst and CORNELL University, Ithaca, USA. Dr. Alam is LLB (Bachelor’s Degree in Law) from AACL, Karnataka State Law University, and registered Patent Agent of the Patent office of Government of India.

He represents, consults/advises for several multinational and national companies on a variety of issues and works closely with several start-ups, spin-offs, institutes and universities in India and abroad.
